Last time, we reviewed the best iPhone scooter apps and we pointed out that there aren’t many apps available to the American scooter riders. Today we are going to review the Android apps for scooters. Unfortunately, the case is even worse, independent of the nation, in general, there aren’t many apps for the scooter lovers out there.

Here are two Android applications that we picked, which might be of interest. An addictive fun game, called Scooter Hero by WuZla Games, for everyone out there who like tapping games and an informative electronic book called Total Scooter, aiming to educate the first time scooter buyer on what kind of scooter to buy, what to look for and why to buy a scooter.

Enjoy and if you get a chance to try these out, feel free to comment with your review.

1. Scooter Hero

Arcade & Action by WuZla Games. Free and Pro version available. According to user reviews, this a quite addicting game. Your goal is to avoid falling off the platform, tap the screen to jump, and jump even higher…

Scooter Hero

2. Total Scooter

Those of us who have never been to New Zealand often see its beautiful nature on TV and simply can’t help ourselves from admiring the country. But there are so many more things to admire about New Zealand. At least there are two more that are going to be mentioned in this article.

First one, there is an organization called ACC (The Accident Compensation Corporation) which provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for all New Zealand residents as well as temporary VISITORS! Isn’t that great? Who does that?

In order to keep its costs low, ACC also works towards preventing injuries from happening. How do they do that? Simple: By educating people!

Which brings us to the second item, ACC teamed up with some key motorcycle groups to create the scooter survival website, which is admirable. Hard to believe there is a government behind that. The content is highly useful and the design is dynamic and modern. OK, it was intended for NZ, but most of the content is valid for any scooterist in the World. So go and benefit from it! You can find anything on the website, including tips on properly gearing up, buying, maintenance and handling. Not to forget the library of highly educational videos.

Currently, scooter survival is running a safety campaign called “Add another layer” aiming to get young scooter riders to cover up bare skin in order to reduce serious injuries during a crash. To promote the campaign scooters in the area are being dressed up in fabric. Watch this video to see how scooters are being stripped down and covered in fabric: http://scootersurvival.co.nz/videos/scooter-dressing/

Hope to see our government caring for scooter riders and spending some money towards educating scooterists one day.

Unfortunately, there are not many apps available to the scooter riders in the US, except the ones providing nothing more than brand information to the fans. These include apps, such as iVespa, The Genuine Scooter Company, i.Lambretta, People GTi, etc.

On the other hand Australia and Europe have some very useful apps. Get Twisted Pty Ltd in Australia offers, the Motorcycle and Scooter Parking app and Motorcycle Dealers and Workshops app. The first one helps finding a motorcycle parking spot and the latter one shows where to find a dealer, service, etc. Unfortunately, these apps are currently Australia centric and don’t cover anywhere else in the World. Similarly, Bike Parking app helps to find parking in London. And  Tribal scoot is a digital comic available only in French.

So from the remaining apps, that can be used by American scooterists, we found only 2 to be particularly useful. Here they are:

App#1. Greatest Road Software

This application helps you find great roads based on recommendations and ratings from other riders.

  • Look for great roads near you or wherever you’re headed
  • See how they’re rated by other riders
  • Read comments that tell you generally about the trip or current conditions and hazards
  • Add new stretches of road and describe the trip for others to see
  • Email a stretch to buddies with iPhones and Greatest Road
  • Email a stretch to buddies as a GPX file to load into a standalone GPS
  • Single tap to access Google Maps to help you navigate the ride

App#2. Rat On A Scooter XL

You always dreamed of being a rat on a scooter? This is your chance, in this fun scooter game, you kick start the scooter and head down to the abandoned suburbs, performing dangerous stunts and jumps on top of the scaffolds in Ratty’s boldest adventure ever.
